Sami Ojanen shone in the British truck racing series – The Finnish driver fights for the bronze medal in the series
The fourth motorsport weekend of the British truck racing series, held at the historic Donington Park racing circuit in Central England, provided great emotions for Finnish driver Sami Ojanen, who celebrated three podium finishes during the weekend with his Sisu SR300 truck out of five races. The emotional weekend was crowned by a victory in the second division of the fifth race.- The upward-moving start of the season was rewarded with results in line with our goals, namely one victory and two other podium finishes. We faced technical problems throughout the weekend with both the throttle pedal and the engine injector, and therefore I finished in fourth and seventh places in the other two races. Considering the problems, the weekend was very successful and the historic victory in the fifth race was the perfect reward for the entire team for the hard work we have put in since the spring. here in England, says Ojanen.
With three autumn competition weekends left in the season, the only Finnish driver in the series is in the battle for the second division medal. – Currently leading the series towards the Championship is Jake Evans, who has won four races, and Simon Cole, who has achieved three second places, will be taking home the silver medal. However, the fate of the bronze medal is still unresolved, and it seems that it will be a challenge between me and Bradley Harvey. As I have recently been able to secure podium positions in the last two competition weekends, and my performance appears to be on the rise, racing for the bronze medal presents a significant challenge for the whole team in the remaining weekends at Snetterton, Le Mans, and Brands Hatch, Ojanen reflects. The next competition weekend in the series, that is, the Snetterton weekend, will take place in mid-September.
