Differences between mounting discs

When changing the steel rim to aluminum, the sufficient length of the stud bolt for the thicker mounting disc must be taken into account.

Milcoa has published the minimum bolt dimensions required for installation when using Alcoa® Wheels forged aluminum wheels. Some wheel brands have thicker mounting disc than these. The retrofitting instructions below therefore only apply to Alcoa Wheels.

The required bolt length

Check the thickness of the center ring and the length of the bolt before installation. If the bolt is too short, the installation dimension can be extended with sleeve nuts.

Minimum length for the bolt from the mounting surface | single wheel

In first-time installations, the required length is greater, the stud bolt is left with a 3 mm protrusion from the nut.
